I just had my engagement party and there has been an on going battle about favors. For my E party i gave a favor to each person. My mother in law is telling me i am wrong and for the wedding it has to be one per couple. what is the proper way to do this?? I just assumed it was easier and the right thing to do, to give one per person.

Re: wedding Favors
for wedding favors we are doing christmas ornaments and we are going to give one per person because not everyone is married, but everyone is going to have a plus one

Re: wedding Favors
i know that for our wedding we are giving one per person. but at first we were going to do a bottle of wine, so we were going to do one per couple. i guess it all depends on what you are giving

Re: wedding Favors
my FMIL is the greatest women in the world, however she has read the wedding etiquette book back & forward. you are suppose to give one favor per couple, unless people are single which then you give one per person.

Re: wedding Favors
I think it is whatever you want, For my e-party we are giving a bottle of wine per couple, if you are single you get your own bottle. For the wedding we haven't thought about favors yet but we will see I think it is whatever you guys want to do!

It depends on what you want to do...there is no standard thing you must to...

Re: wedding Favors
i always thought it was depending what you were giving. like if it was wine than one per couple but if it was something smaller like a candle or something you would do one per person

if it is pricier, then you would do one per couple/ family

thats what i think. if your giving lenox frames, then one per couple. but if your doing hershey kisses then one per person. i think rule of thumb is anything over $4 is one per couple.

Re: wedding Favors
You can do it either way... but it also depends on what kind of favors it is you are giving out. I've been to weddings where it was either per couple or per person.

Re: wedding Favors
I think it really depends on what your favor is. If you do a pepper mill, I'd say one per couple. If you do something like chocolates or candles, I'd do one per person.

Re: wedding Favors
This is tricky! We are doing a donation and then some candy. It's just chocolate so everbody can take their own. If I had a really nice favor I wouldn't be so generous with them.
