Wedding Fears? Kinda long

Wedding Fears? Kinda long

Ok, so some of you may know I have never been truly happy with my pending Sunday wedding (the wedding, not the man that I love). Well recently as I have been prepping my invites I have been calling my RH (and others) desperately looking to switch to the Saturday of my wedding weekend or the week before. Well I just realized this is it, and I’m going to have a Sunday afternoon wedding and suddenly I got so sad. I’ve been having terrible dreams about having a terrible wedding, and all these fears, like that I picked a bad photographer or DJ, or that there will be no dancing because by the time we get through the sit down dinner it will be over! I know I’m lucky for even having a wedding, but I feel out of my mind about this.

Well I’m thinking about getting a wedding planner who can help me create a rehearsal dinner and help me get through this, but the problem is, I haven’t found one for under $1000. Is this just normal pre-wedding jitters or do I need to do something drastic like change my date or get a planner?

That's normal! I am worried about the day going fast too. Don't worry about it being on a Sunday. True, some of the older folks may leave early but there will be people partying it up until the end!

I used to be a bridal attendant and we had a Fri and Sat or a Sat and Sun, sometimes all three, every weekend. So there are TONS of people who have Sunday weddings. I am having a Friday wedding and MY concern is that a lot of people don't make the ceremony, which is the most important part!

You chose your vendors for a reason, now we just have to kind of sit back, let go and trust everything will go perfectly. Worrying is only going to attract negative energy!

I really want to have a Saturday wedding, but I can't find anything and all my vendors are already booked

One of the wedding planner says she can help me make my Sunday wedding work and get me a cute rehersal dinner that would sort of cushion the blow of not having a Saturday wedding. Do you think it is worth it for $1000?

i have had all kinds of similar thoughts off and on... so i understand. but i also think that it's normal. i think it's how when you're stressed, your stress manifests in bad dreams and worried thoughts. but someone, actually quite a few girls from LIW helped me with my post (similar to yours)... that you chose who you chose and certain things are going to be the way they are. you can only make sure you find a way to enjoy every moment. because what will happen otherwise..is you'll spend so much of this precious planning time worrying about things that ultimately won't matter, that you'll waste all this time, not enjoy all the special little moments in the pre-wedding ... and look back wishing you hadn't. SO ... my advice ... just try to settle with yourself. A sunday wedding is beautiful!! i've been to two! and you'll have a gorgeous day!

Honestly, if you have the $1000 to spend, and if you think its going to make you a whole lot happier..then i say go for it..

I don't know how much I can add to the already very good advise you got... I will say that while I think I am the only one stressing every little decisoin I make and doubting myself, everybody goes through it in one way or the other.

What helps me when I feel like that is just thinking that nothing is going to be perfect ever with the wedding day-- so the most important thing is being with your loved ones and your FH-- and (sorry here is the corny part) that's what will make your day perfect...

wow i have the same fears, and the same situation, although i'm not trying to switch it.. and it's too late even if i wanted to. but i do regret not having a saturday wedding, but a sunday afternoon wedding is elegant and will be just as amazing. don't doubt yourself, i'm still happy and can't wait!! but i know exactly how you feel

Just remember what the day is really about and have those closest to you be there every step of the way to reinforce your most important aspects of the event If I could, I would help you out for free (well a dinner ) but my wedding is close to yours and I'm in two bridal parties with showers around your wedding date!

I had a Sunday afternoon wedding and it went great...ppl danced and had a great time, and we rec'd many compliments afterwards (are still getting them!). No matter when you have your wedding, or what you plan, or who you hire...you will be worried about something going wrong...it's a lot of stress to plan a wedding and of course you want everything to be perfect. I don't think hiring a coordinator for $1000 or changing the day or time will erase this..I think trying to change your RH or the time/date will just make you even more stressed, to be honest. (JMHO). If I were you I would step back from your planning for at least a few days (nothing wedding at all!!) and give yourself a much-needed and well- deserved break from all of it. And if you definitely have your wedding on a Sunday...it will work out just fine. Many girls have had their weddings on a Sunday and they have no regrets and everything was beautiful.

I've been to Sunday afternoon weddings and I honestly liked them a lot! I think day time weddings are unique and if it's a nice day and you can do part of it outdoors-that's great too. I still ate/drank/danced my butt off....

I had a destination wedding and BELIEVE ME I know about stressing and second guessing things. But in the end-it was amazing and everything worked out perfectly....and not to sound corny as well-but it really is about the couple and the marriage so I wouldn't stress too much about the day/weather/time of day....anything!

we had a sunday afternoon wedding and it was perfect. everyone was there for the ceremony, people stayed for the entire reception. i would do my sunday afternoon wedding again in a heartbeat! after the wedding, you can still hang out w/ your close friends and family if you want. or you can just spend some time w/ you and DH, and not be overly tired as if your wedding had ended at 1AM.

it really doesn't matter when your wedding is. it's your wedding celebration, people will be there and have fun because they want to share the day with you.

i think your sunday wedding will be just as great as a saturday. i was worried about having a sat afternoon but in the long run what matters is that i am marrying FH, my family and close friends will be there no matter what, and that i am saving a lot of $. everything will be fine!

Thank you guys so much, especially those of you who had Sunday weddings! Your weddings sounded amazing and I really hope mine turns out as nice as yours.

So if these nightmares are normal, am I going to be having them for the net 101 days?

Any other Sunday wedding coping tips?

I went to a Sunday afternoon wedding at CLM and if you have the right music.. people will dance. This dance floor was pumping!! And the dancing starts right away and in-between all the courses so the dancing is not starting after dinner is served. DJ's and band leaders will announce each course and change the music to a non-dance song.

I went to a saturday afternoon wedding at another hall, and you wouldn't have even know it was not night time. again the dance floor packed, and everyone having a great time.. and not tired either!

Everyone has the jitters but trust me, if you worry too much you won't enjoy it.
