So many people have told me to do this, but I have yet to talk to someone who has actually purchased their wedding flowers from a supermarket???

In all seriousness, I think Stop and Shop does this. Do a search, because as I recall this was recently discussed.

Re: Wedding flowers at a supermarket???
gotta confess....fh can't always get to the florist before they close, but is (still!) always bringing me flowers....and he gets the MOST beautiful ones from Stop & Shop! They are really nice - usually nicer than the ones from the florist, and seem to last longer too.
We were seriously considering using them for the wedding, but I have a florist in the family who is so creative & talented...so we are using her.
I would really check into it though...and maybe some are better than others...if you want I can ask him which stop & shop he goes to!
Just don't tell alot of people you are using the grocerystore...their opinions will probably 'talk you out of it'!

Re: Wedding flowers at a supermarket???
I do believe Stop N Shop still does it. I had a friend that got married a few years back and she used their flowers. You couldn't even tell it was from a supermarket!
i know before i was looking at a page with all the different arrangements for all the different events they do. maybe just surf around for it. i know it's on there, just don't know where and don't have time to look right now. sorry. they're really nice though and CHEAP!

Re: Wedding flowers at a supermarket???
Everyone is telling me to use Stop and Shop!! I am going to go there and price them.
BTW - I picked up flowers from 711 just to have in the house and they lasted a week! Flowers are flowers so I guess it doesn't matter where they come from.
Thanks for the link.

Re: Wedding flowers at a supermarket???
We are doing pumpkin and mum centerpieces-$5 each! One of my customers owns a landscaping company-yay! Then our florist is $500 for 8 boquets, 9 boutineres, 2 fg boquets, and 3 corsages. Check out American Beauty florist in Kings Park.

Re: Wedding flowers at a supermarket???
Sounds like a hard task to pull off. I would rather check out the floral district in NYC (27th ave) for last minute buy and run deals.

Stop & Shop does offer that. I see the sign in mine all the time! Their flowers in there always seem nice.

Re: Wedding flowers at a supermarket???
make sure you see if they do delivery and set up. florists usually set up the CPs and petals and stuff, not the RH. you may need to have someone specifically for this--CPs can be large and it would take a big van. if you're setting it up yourself, you may need to look into insurance...i doubt it's needed, but any vendor that steps inside a RH needs an insurance policy.
just something to think about......
you CAN find inexpensive florists if you're not looking for high CPs or anything too crazy. my entire floral budget was a little more than 1500...you'd never be able to tell because they did a fabulous job!
