How much are you spending on your Flowers? we havent' started looking yet, and want to plan the budget for them... we're goign very BASIC... how much do you think they will run?
and- any suggestions of where to go?

Mine are costing around 2000-2500 depending on what centerpiece i go with- Pedestals was really nice and withing my budget- i didnt go with them but they would have been my first choice if i never went to the flower petaler

In order for us to help you better, tell us exactly what your looking for. When you say 'simple' I assume you mean low centerpieces, but what kind of flowers? how many tables? how many bo-ks? how many boutenires? I went pretty 'basic' for my flowers, but they were still $2300 because I have 20 tables, my bo-k, 1 MOH bo-k, 5 BM bo-ks, 2 mom small clutches, petals for FG, 10 bouts, chuppa decorations... I didn't get any large arrangements for special tables or anything like that.

hi.
Yes, low centerpieces... simlle ones (like just flowers in a vase)... 4 BM, 1 Jr.BM, 4 GM, 3 Mom's corsages, 3 Dads bout. and I think 11 tables.
no decorations at the ceremony (we'll be outside)...
so that's basically it.
I really don't want to spend $2000 on flowers! argh! this is costing SOOOOOOOO much already!

I met with a great florist! The quote I got was approx. $2800. I was hoping to spend somewhere between $2000-2500. We'll see if anything can be done!

Try Laurie from LA Blossom. I am paying less than $2K and I have 6 BMs, 6 GM, 20 centerpieces, and more bouts/corsages than you need.

2 reader corsages
throw away bouquet
4 wrapped roses
15-17 high full (no excess filler) centerpeices.

definitely call laurie from LA Blossom. She gave me a great price quote and we are going basic also. Not low low centerpieces but not the really high ones either. She is really great to work with and has a lot of ideas. We are having probably 18-20 CP'S and 7 BM 7 GM

This may sound really weird but if you really want to save... as do I... Someone told me they went to wedding where they had Stop and Shop do the flowers. I don't know what flowers they meant..church, centerpieces, BM, GM???? but they were said to be very nice and unique. I am on a very tight budget and I think I am going to check it.... Hey it can't hurt to look! Prob will only have them do church and centerpieces though.. and get the rest from a florist. How far in advance to you have to talk to a florist?

If you cannot afford the flowers you can always do candles. There was no way I could do the flowers so I am going with a really elegant candle centerpiece (at least I think its elegant). I am getting rose petals as well to put between the candles and it looks really nice. I just brought an example to the place and it looks terrific. Just a thought.

I went to stop and shop last night... The florist was closed but I got some sample booklets.. We also looked at thier flowers online and thought we could use those styles as centerpieces... Now without talking to them and finding out real prices we thought 850$ for.... 1 bride boquet- 18 roses hand tied 1 maid of honor boquet-12 roses hand tied 4BM- 6 roses hand tied 3 mother corsages- 3 roses 9 bouteniers 14 centerpieces 2 grandmother corsages-3 roses 2 grandfater bouteniers.
They also do pew bows, church flowers and cake flowers...
We also may do without roses and pick some other seasonal flowers... They sound like really nice arrangements... Now we have to go and see an actual person and really talk prices... also some stop and shops have bigger florist sections... try the one on hempstead turnpike in levittown or call first
