I am having an 11 am church wedding and just realized I might not have enough time for the girls to get their hair and makeup done! What time should we be at the salon? How long do these things usually take? I'm freaking out.

They can't come to you? Do they ALL need hair and makeup? Maybe some can do their own makeup, maybe they have more stylists on staff to help with hair.

Re: Wedding freak out
and how many stylists will be available to work on the girls... you def want YOU to be first, you'd rather the stylists rush the bms hair, NOT yours!

Church is at 11 and there is me and 4 girls
UGHhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Why didn't I think about this before! I literally feel like puking.
I don't know what time the salon opens but I thought we would be fine around 8 but now I am realizing that we might need more time.

Re: Wedding freak out
call the salon with a list of questions: 1) earliest you can arrive 2) how many stylists available 3) what order do they want 4) that YOU need to go first
Maybe simplify the girls hairstyles so they aren't as intricate and can be done much quicker.

Re: Wedding freak out
I would definitely start earlier. I got my makeup done at 7 and hair at 9 and with myself, the dride, the mom to be and one bridesmaids we were all done by 12.
We did it in bride to be's house.

Yes, you may need more time, but first check with the salon to see if each girl will have their own stylist... and if makeup and hair can be done together or unison.
Also ask about any prep that the girls can do (wash, air dry, etc before they get to the salon)

Re: Wedding freak out
our ceremony's at 11...7 girls besides me are having hair and makeup starting at 5am.
most of the vendors I've talked to have said 30 min for hair and 30 min for makeup...and for the bride to go last. (it's not like the ceremony's going to start without you )

Re: Wedding freak out
DON'T LET BRIDE BE LAST - the last thing you need is for them to spend all the time on the bms and everyone else and the vendors to RUSH you... I will make sure I am first for sure... That is the advice I've gotten from MANY recent brides...

Re: Wedding freak out
Ok maybe I'm selfish.....but have your girls get their hair done on their own at the salon of their choice! Then all you have to do is give them a time and a place to be and all you have to worry about is your hair and make up.

Re: Wedding freak out
Don't freak out! My sister did the same thing. Although, we were all at a hotel the night before and the hair and makeup people came to us. But we had a VERY early start to the day. if I remember correctly, we were up at like 6. But, consider that if you are at a salon, its not like you are waiting around for everyone to get their hair done one at a time, you know?

hair girl told me half an hour per girl...
i know that osme early brides had to start getting hair done at like 5am! I would recommend having the hair and makeup come to you that way you can start super early.

Re: Wedding freak out
See if your salon will open earlier to do it. This way they can still book appointments for the day, and get some extra money in. I'm sure you're not the first person to ask them to do it!
