Question: How much of a wedding gift (money) would you give a family member from two people, if you were unable to attend their wedding. Please help! Thanks!

Re: Wedding gift
$350-500 depending on how close you are

Re: Wedding gift
I asked this recently, and got a wide range of answers - from nothing to $500. There doesn't seem to be any 'right' answer.
I ended up sending gifts from the registry, and spent about $125. There were many mitigating factors which caused me to not send more - I'm a broke student, my fiance and I are currently paying for our own wedding, and the wedding is Upstate (so gift expectations are much different then LI).
I think you should just send whatever you can, and I imagine anything would be appreciated. I read many etiquette websites that said you don't 'have' to send anything, so many might not send a gift when not attending, which means anything you send will look good.

Re: Wedding gift
it really depended on how close you are. If it is a member you have spent all your holidays with growing up and still see, i'd say $300. we had a second cousins wedding that we sent $100 to, since we didn't really know them and FH hadn't seen them in like 15 yrs.

Re: Wedding gift
I think if you give anything that would be good. I think it also depends on how close you are to them. Maybe if you get something on their registry? Or send 100 to 200? This is a hard question because their is no right answer!

When I attend a wedding, I always give money; but if I don't I will typically send a nicer, more expensive registry item (maybe $100 if I am invited alone or $200 if invited with a guest). And like everyone else has said, my relationships with the person will dictate what I spend on that.

I'd probably say 200 since you're unable to attend.
