who do i make the check out to? the new mr & mrs? (i'm not sure if they have joint bank accounts yet or if my friend has legally changed her name yet) ..and i dont want to put cash in case it gets lost..
help pls.. im leaving in an hour lol

I usually make it out to the bride in her maiden name because of all the reasons that you stated

Most people made it out to either my maiden name or to Hubby's name. It was easier to deposit as well.

Both,,,cause chances are that the gift money is the money for the Joint account..that's what FH and I are gonna do!! But I would make it to the bride!!!

Funny I wish that people had thought of doing just that when I got married- everyone except one of my coworkers made the checks out to Mr. & Mrs.
Fortunately they didn't give me a hard time at the bank about it since I waited till I had the marriage license to deposit everything.
Also people usually just make everything out to whichever person they are closer with- not all couples have joint bank accounts- DH and I still don't have a joint account.
