Wedding gift help needed!

Wedding gift help needed!

My DH and I are going to a wedding 'celebration' for an old coworker of his. The couple is Russian and technically was married last summer at City Hall. Now they are having a reception in Brooklyn at a resteraunt to celebrate their marriage.

I have no idea what to give as a gift. I do not know what is custumary for Russian weddings (I do not think they are Russian Orthodox, but rather Jewish). They are not registered anywhere. I 'heard' that we should give a gift. Any recommendations? How much should we spend?

Give money.

Seriously. My FI is a Russian Jew. They give money. They've never heard of registering. Never heard of showers either.

Cash or a gift certificate to someplace like BB&B, Macy's, Fortunof, etc.

I agree with the above posts. Gift card or cash sounds good to me!

Thanks. I was originally thinking a decanter or bowl from Tiffany's, but maybe I will just give money.
