I am getting married in February. A gift from one of my registries was just shipped to my house. I am not sure what the etiquette is regarding gifts sent before the wedding and/or shower. There is no date for the shower set yet. Should I send a Thank You note to the person now, or wait until after the shower or wedding? Please help! I want to do the appropriate thing. Thank You!!!!

Re: wedding gift question
In my opinion send the thanks you's as the gift comes, its easier, and i dont think writing a thank u note would take so long, the gift giver obviously took time out of their schedule to send u a gift, do the same and say thank you...send them a lil note or card...its sweet...

Re: wedding gift question
I agree.......I would send the thank you's as the gifts come. Some people get offended if they don't get thanked within a certain amount of time after sending a gift.

Re: wedding gift question
Send it now....if they didn't get a thank you until next spring for an early gift (that they likely view as an engagement gift, not your wedding gift) then they will be offended. And it's just easier to send the notes as the gifts come (for those that arrive before the big day).

Re: wedding gift question
Definitley send it now. It will be embarassing if they ask if you received the gift in a few months.

Re: wedding gift question
I send out thank yous as I get them. Then you do not need to worry about keeping a long list and being stressed out when you have to do hundreds at once.

Re: wedding gift question
Send a thank you now to let the person know it was received and then after the wedding, send another thank you with your marriage picture.

Re: wedding gift question
Send the thank you as soon as you get a gift. It is probably an engagement gift or something. I think it makes it easier to send the thank yous as soon as you get the gifts.

Re: wedding gift question
Any gifts that you receive before your shower or wedding, you should send a thank you note or card.

Re: wedding gift question
Send Thank you's as you receive gifts and be sure to write down all your gifts.
FH and I got a lot of our gifts off the registry before the wedding/shower... They were engagement presents.
