Wedding gift question

Wedding gift question

We just received a wedding gift from my 2nd cousin and his girlfriend today (an amazon.com gift certificate...very cool). They came to our wedding. Very recently, they got engaged and are getting married this month. My parents were invited but not DH and I. It is something very small at the house. Should we send a gift? Here is a little background:

They asked for no gifts since they are older (only a little younger than my parents) and have everything they need. But since they are older, I would feel funny giving money. Should we send something like Omaha steaks? Or would my parents' gift be enough?

You're certainly not obligated to send a gift. If you want to, maybe a gift card like they did.

I like the Omaha steaks idea. Nothing more than 50 bucks though...

If you weren't invited, I would say just send a card.

I agree.

I would send a card and a gift certificate somewhere. Small

i think a beautiful card and a gift card for a nice dinner out would be the way i'd go.

but, as stated above, you're not obligated to send anything

That's what I would do too.

I usually do if I know the person, but if they had something very small for immediate, Im the type that would still get a small something. . . They probablyn didn't register yet. but maybe something small for the house [maybe like a cheese serving platter] or maybe a gift certificate to a restaurant even. we got some of those from people who weren't invited to the e-party that gave us that as soon as we got engaged.
but you don't have to. most people probably wouldn't give anything!

I would send a card, maybe a gift card - nothing more!
