Re: Wedding Gift/Bank ?
if the checks are made out to both of you then you will have to sign it 2x- with your maiden name and then your married name and you DH has to sign his name.
but to make life easier, you can just write 'for deposit only' instead of your names
ETA: you wont have to show proof- it's too soon for your marriage cert to have come in the mail....
we deposited our checks the day after the wedding

Re: Wedding Gift/Bank ?
We opened a joint checking account about 1 week prior to our wedding in anticipation of the checks.
We told the person who opened the account that we were getting married in a week and that we expected to deposit some wedding gifts that might me made out to Mr and Mrs. It helped.
Any checks that we were made out to Mr. and Mrs. Smith' or 'John and Jane Smith' were signed by both of us. I just signed once with my maiden name because that was the name on the account. I also wrote 'for deposit only' on every check.
