wedding gifts

what are your plans for the monetary wedding gifts that you receive??

Re: wedding gifts

Using some of it on a new bedroom set and couch - we've already found what we want, so we know exactly how much we're going to use toward that.

The rest: savings!

Definatly putting towards a house! FH and i are working our butts off to pay everything off in cash, so we are debt free so we can buy a house.

Probably going to use some of it to renovate our bathroom, then the rest is going right in the bank.

Ditto! Please extend that $8,000 first home buyers credit! Pretty please?!

Re: wedding gifts

We plan to save most of it for a downpayment on a house and add to it for while. We have to take some of it and pay off some bills, but no more then 2-3k

were going to close our wedding expenses and whatever is left is going to go into savings or to help with new expenses. Doesnt sound so fun :/

Re: wedding gifts

downpayment for a house!! (towards the downpayment anyway!!) Its harder here to get a house. There are no programs or anything to help out unless you are very poor and then its small houses of this wood material or now they are starting with cement.

Minimum downpayment is at least 30-40%!! The only good thing is that houses are a lot cheaper here than in NY, but the pay is also much lower so its kinda a vicious cycle!!
