hi ladies -- my wedding is in may and i still havent found a dress!!! whats the latest date / month i should order? i liked one gown but don't know if it's 'the one'.

I am pregnant and due in 2 weeks so I haven't been able to try on dresses and panicked for soo long because my wedding is in april. Most dresses they said can be orderded a few months ahead but I am pretty sure some designers need like a year to be ordered. Macy's bridal said as long as I come in my the end of sept and start looking and order by Oct I should be ok and another bridal place said the same thing. It really depends on the dress and place. You should ask them they can tell you more.

Kleinfeld's FAQ says that you should give yourself 4-8 months prior to the wedding to select a gown and that the gown arrives 8-10 weeks before the date...so you still have time!!

you should be alright. depending on the designer, sometimes it may take longer, or shorter of a time to order your gown. for example, i'm ordering a paloma blanca dress and they say it takes 6-8 months, which i think is a lot of time. some other designers only take 3-4 months. so, i think you still have time. no need to panic.

it depends on the maker and the place you get it. i am getting married in may and i ordered mine back in june. It will be in in novemeber. i orderd kinda early ause i didnt want to take the chance of it being discontinued.

Most shops I have been too asked for 6 months. and a few others asked for 9

Hi date twin!! my designer takes at a minumu of 6 months. Wedding shops are closed in December and January. I ordered my dress a couple of weeks ago and it won't be until at least february.

I just ordered from Kleinfeld's and my dress will be there (for my first fitting) in mid April (wedding is in june)
I think you should be ok...but I wouldn't wait too long to start the search again...Just don't settle on something if you don't love it...You'll have those pics forever. You should love the way you look (and it will come through in your pics!)

thanx for the info! Hi jerry's girl! 1st person i've seen with the same wedding date =) I feel so behind compared to some of these other girls. its overwhelming especially since i have less than a year!! i still need to pick a color, find a gown, limo, hairstyles, and the list goes on....

so yeah i would start looking soon...only to give yourself enough time for it to come in and get it altered
