Wedding Gown - Best Selection?

Wedding Gown - Best Selection?

I am going to start looking for my gown (I know what I am looking for), but was wondering if anyone could help me out with places to go that have the best selection? Who has the most to choose from? I live in Staten Island, so I would prefer to go somewhere close by, or in New Jersey or Brooklyn.

Thanks!

You may not want to travel but I would highly recommend Kleinfelds. The experience was amazing!!

In Brooklyn you have a few good places.

Valentina's on New Utrecht Avenue & 75th or 76th Street (Beautiful store and family owned, they named it after their daughter)
Doris Fashions (Reasonable small store, but they have a lot and ask for Maria to be your salesgirl and Josephine to do alterations) on 18th Avenue & 68th Street
Lestans on Ralph & Flatlands Avenue
Then there is also Kelly's Kreations on 18th Ave at around 72nd Street.

Good luck.

I recommend Doris fashion too I am working with Lana very friendly and easy to work with

A question for you - You found Lana to be nice? Every time I was there she was nasty to anybody that wasnt Russian even when my DIL's mom and sister came and purchased their gowns there they said they would never use her. I'm happy for you if she has been nice to you (that's a good thing for you and her). Maybe the owner spoke with her.
Good luck on your wedding and may you have a wonderful happy life.

I agree with kleinfelds...they are known to have the biggest selection than any store

I got my dress at NY Bridal Couture on Hylan Blvd. and so far have had a positive experience with them. I also went to Saks and Bridal Reflections in the city, both had a good selection but my sales person in Saks was a total wack job and I found the people in Bridal Reflectios to be really pushy and annoying!

I bought mine at Lotus Bridal in Brooklyn, on Avenue U and E18th Street. I also had great experiences at RK bridal int he city -- I almost bought my dress there, but found one I liked better at Lotus. Lotus is a small family owned store, and they are really, really nice!

Thank you for this I was trying to think of the Bridal store on Avenue U that has a good reputation and Lotus is it.

I wasn't crazy about Lestan
Went in with specific pictures of Maggie dresses that I wanted to see and try on, and they didn't have any of them. Yet when you see print advertisements for Maggie, Lestan is listed in almost all of them.
Saleslady showed me all different styles than what I was looking for. That irritated me to no end. I really wasted my time there.

This is the only place (NY Bridal Couture) on Staten Island that I will even go to. Thanks!

Oh and just a tip if you do go there, I got a Priscilla of Boston gown there and the price they quoted me was way higher than what Priscilla of Boston was selling the gown for, but I was able to negotiate with them.

Re: Wedding Gown - Best Selection?

My friend I went to Lotus after a friend of mine (who speaks Cantonese, which is the same dialect as the salespeople) recommended the store to me. However, our experience was a total disappointment. I was there first myself and the saleslady (Katie) was totally useless. On top of that, she chose to ignore me when I asked her questions, and eventually just leave me sitting there by myself. When my friend came, she confirmed my opinion that Katie was unprofessional and rude. The only time she managed to squeeze a smile to us was when we were leaving and she tried to push the ONE dress I tried on at the store.

They might have a few dresses, but for me, it's also about the dress plus and shopping experience, and being treated like a decent human being. Hope you have better luck than I do if you decide to shop there.

I got my dress at RK Bridal in the city. They have TONS of dresses there and it's best to go early on a weekday (i've heard it's nuts on the weekend.) Olga helped me and I found my dress after only trying on about 8.
