Wedding Gown Bra - Need Ideas

Wedding Gown Bra - Need Ideas

Things were doing great - my aunt and I went to a corsetier (think I spelled that right) and I wanted to be re-measured for a longline strapless bra to wear with my gown.
Turns out (like most women) that I was wearing the wrong bra size- I need a 48B actually.
The woman at the corsetier said it was not a problem that the bra I wanted came in that size... that was a few days ago and I got the call today that they don't in fact make it in that size. They can however give me a 46C and then add padding in the cups and extenders on the back but I don't feel to comfortable with that. I want what would fit me best so that I am somewhat comfortable.

I'm not sure where else to go - I went to the Woman's Boutique in West Hempstead and I'm looking for something near Far Rockaway or Inwood at this time.

I'm a bit lost atm and I need to actually get one fast because I want my aunt to be able to go with me (she's going in for knee replacement surgery in early December).

Any help and assistance would be appeciated.

The best place for bra's IMO is:

Mary Corsetieres Ltd
930 Woodbury Rd in Woodbury (516) 921-4033

They alterate bras right there at the store based on your measurements. I've been going there since I was younger.

Since it would be a bit of a drive from you maybe call them first to see if they carry your size. I kow they usually carry large sizes (around 44DD-or larger) but they have smaller ones as well. Also, they tend to have a wait since its not a large store and very popular.

Thanks I might try them if I can't come up with anything- I'm like 'why I have to have the weird bra size'...lol

They are really good and I know a lot of people that swear by them. The prices are usually reasonable.

I probably should go back myself because I know I'm wearing the wrong size myself with gaining and losing weight like i've done.

I need to start looking for bras...my dress is due in soon.

Definitely go to Mary's!!! I went today with my mom to get my corset and the ladies there are fantastic. She knew exactly what size and style I needed and it was actually comfortable when I put it on and I made sure to jump up and down in the fitting room to see if anything pooped out and the girls did not budge. I've always had a problem with any thing strapless and they never fit right, but she put me in a 38F, which kinda freaked me out lol but it was perfect. They had to do a few minor alterations so I get to pick it up next Friday.
If you do go there, I recommend going as soon as they open or you could be waiting a long time. Good luck!!

This isn't in the area you suggested, but I went to Georgette's in Hicksville and they were able to get me an amazingly comfortable but still sexy long line. I too am a weird size like you, but they had plenty in stock! Contact info is in my review if you want it.
