Ok this may sound like a silly question, but when you buy your gown do you usually pay for it right away, or do you put a deposit down and then pay later? does this depend on the store? tia

Re: Wedding gown payment
Most stores required only a deposit. Mine was a 50% deposit for them to order. However, I know that when I went to Macys they told me that if I paid in full I would get a discount. Don't know if that was common practice for them.

Re: Wedding gown payment
I had to put a deposit down and then when i go for my fittings i pay the rest. I am not sure but it might depend on the store the amount you have to put down for a deposit.

Re: Wedding gown payment
I had to put down 50% at Bridal Reflections for them to order it. I think the rest is due at my 1st fitting.

I had to put down a deposit and pay the balance when the dress came in.
Keep in mind you may have to pay by cash or check since many places do not take credit cards.

Re: Wedding gown payment
Normally you have to leave a deposit but the amount varies by store.

Re: Wedding gown payment
just about every place is 50% down payment, if you want to pay it in full that is your choice.
I had to put 60% down, but its the only store i know of that asks for 60%. Then i had to pay the balance in full before i started first fitting.

Usually the balance needs to be paid in cash, but I would definitely put your deposit on a credit card if you can. I know no one ever wants to think this way, but at least you will have some protection from the card company if God forbid something were to happen such as the shop closing before your wedding.
