Wedding Guests

Ladies, I need your help. My fiancé and I have a large group of HS friends. We all socialize together. My fiancé and I concerned because if we invite them with dates it becomes too many people. What do you think about inviting people, not in serious relationships, without a date? Is it tacky? Thanks girls.

we had a similar issue... we only invited them with dates if they were dating someone...

We ran into the same thing with my cousins who never seem to date anyone seriously. We are going to invite them without dates first, and then after all the responses come back and we have room we will tell them they can bring someone if they want. I think they should understand.

Honestly, I don't think it's fair to allow some of them in a relationship to come with their guest and not the other.

What is you criteria for a serious relationship? You may be asked that question.

I totally agree.

I invited anyone over 21 with a guest. That was our rule. We invited all of our friends with guests and to be honest with you, only the ones who were married or dating brought someone. People who were single didn't.

I was in a wedding party once upon a time were they told us we couldn't bring dates b/c we weren't in a 'serious' relationship, it soured a lot of people.

Also, you will see that just giving people that option is nice, no reason to alienate your guests!

ETA: I just noticed that your wedding is a year away, some of those friends could be married by then

So, don't worry about it yet. Things change!

Not one single invite I sent out said 'and guest' on it. For those single guests that are in relationships, if I have met the person and could actually include their name on the envelope because I knew it, I did.
