Ladies, I need your help. My fiancé and I have a large group of HS friends. We all socialize together. My fiancé and I concerned because if we invite them with dates it becomes too many people. What do you think about inviting people, not in serious relationships, without a date? Is it tacky? Thanks girls.

Re: Wedding Guests
my friend did that for her wedding....we were all in our early 20's at the time so none of us were really in serious relationships...we actually had a blast because we all knew each other and we just danced with our guy friends for the slow songs! We also understood it costs $$$$ to have a guest come...

Re: Wedding Guests
me and my FH went to HS together and all our friends know each other. We are only inviting out of town friends with a guest or if one of our friends has a bf or gf. if we invited everyone with a guest, it would be like 20 more people..and 'our' guest list is already at 65....plus our parents guestlist which equal another 225
i figure they will have more fun together then bringing random people that they will have to entertain....good luck!

Re: Wedding Guests
that's what we're doing...anyone who isn't in a serious relationship (6 months or more) isn't invited with a guest...so personally i don't think its tacky...especially when you're on a budget...

Re: Wedding Guests
I don't think it's tacky either, but also be prepared to possibly catch some flack for it. The brides of last two weddings I went to only invited guests if they were in a serious relationship. The second wedding only invited engaged couples. Of course the girls invited without dates b*tched about it, but you have to do what you have to do. It's ridiculous to pay all that extra money or worry about space because some selfish people might get offended. I think it's a great idea to invite OOT people with guests. I missed a friends wedding because FH wasn't invited, and I didn't know anyone else and couldn't afford to do a weekend in Vegas essentially by myself.

We're doing that too...we figure unless you're in a relationship for atleast 2 months or so...you're not going to get a date option. However, I have told my single friends that if they want to bring someone that day (that is not just a fling) I will give them a date option if they request one....

Re: Wedding Guests
Definitely not tacky to invite people who arent ina serious relationship without a guest. If its someone who isnt going to know anyone then its a differenta story, but if they are all going to know people then it really shouldnt be a problem

I hear ya on this one Wendi! Matt, you and Chris do have a lot of HS friends!! We decided that if they're not in a serious relationship we're not inviting them with a guest because out list would just be too huge!! So unless you start dating someone like NOW, then we're not inviting them with a guest. Good Luck!

Re: Wedding Guests
I did that for my first wedding many years ago. It worked out great bc everyone knew each other, we were young so we just partied. I would love to do that now but can't bc i'm older and everyone is married or in serious relationships. So the 2 people that are single we invited with guests.
