Just wondering if anyone has been to a wedding at Woodlands? What are your thoughts on the place? I am probably going to have around 225 people, is it too small?
I am also thinking about going a totally different route and having the reception on the water at Bridgeview or the Venetian Yacht Club or Bridgeview in September or Oct. Does anyone have quotes?
Thanks ladies.

Re: Wedding hall opinions
I have never been to the Woodlands.
Bridgeview Yacht Club is very different from Venetian Yacht Club, though they are both nice in different ways.
Brideview is a little more traditional with the carriage in the front yard, the draped ceilings in the ballroom and the chandeliers. The water is really docks on a large inlet canal.
Venetian is more ornate with marble floors and renaissance style decor (brass fixtures) it's very beautiful inside. The view is amazing of the open bay and the Robert Moses Bridge.
Prices are about the same for both places. I believe the food is a little better at Venetian, but that is just from what I have heard. I have not gone for our tasting yet at VYC but I have eaten at Bridgeview next door to the ballroom, they own the Warehouse 5 venue.
Visit both places to see which style you like better. Both places can accommodate 225.
I looked at the woodlands it's beautiful but I felt it was too small for my 175 guests so personally I think 225 would be a little crammed
I have heard great things about the other two places on the water tho!

Re: Wedding hall opinions
Just to clarify, are you invited 225 or expecting 225? If you are inviting 225 you could very well have around 175 attend.

Welcome to LIW. Congrats on your engagement. There are many venues on the water in addition to the ones you mentioned:
Riveria Cresecent Beach club Chateau La Mer
I'm sure there are more in Suffolk but I'm not familiar with them. HTH

this - we looked there and LOVED it, but the size of the ballroom and dance floor concerned me and we're expecting ~200

Re: Wedding hall opinions
I booked the Woodlands and am having about 200...heard AMAZING things from people who had 250 ...BYC actually felt TOO big for a wedding with only 200. And the smell from the neighboring lobster farm was a bit much!
