Hi everyone! I've just begun my wedding planning and have been to two different places today - Venetian Yacht Club and the Bellport Country Club. I also just found Giorgio's and have an appointment to go there next Saturday. Basically I want to have a small wedding that's not going to cost a fortune, so we're looking into doing a Sunday brunch type thing in September or October of 09 with about 150 people. All of the places I have found online are SO expensive though! Ideally we'd like to be married near the water because I think the pictures would come out absolutely beautiful, plus it's more romantic with the water behind you. Does anybody have any ideas for me of places that don't cost an arm and a leg? We haven't really made a budget yet, but I would rather keep the cost as close to $12,000 as possible. Thanks!

Re: Wedding ideas
You should check out Leonards ... they arent by the water but they have great inside pic opps and I priced out day weddings first and they were really affordable. Also, check out Chautea (sp?) la Mer ... they are a vendor here. they are on the water and affordable as well.

Re: Wedding ideas
Giorgio's brunch is reallllly good. I know their brunch is usually around $23 per person for regular events, I don't know how they would figure a wedding brunch!

Re: Wedding ideas
Giorgio's charges $55 for the brunch, any time of year. Not too bad. Another thing I was wondering is how much the average cost of a wedding ceremony is. The VYC I think was about 300 or so, and so was the Bellport Country Club. Giorgio's wants $750 which I think is a bit much. Or is that normal??

Went to a wedding at Sunset Harbour in East Patchogue this weekend and it was AMAZING! the bride told me that the price was EXTREMELY reasonable and she had a Saturday night wedding in the summer.

I booked my reception at Sunset Harbour. We got a great price for a Saturday evening in September.

Re: Wedding ideas
When I priced ceremonies they ranged from $400-$1200. I think $750 is average.

Re: Wedding ideas
VYC is $750 for the ceremony.
Try Chateau La Mer, $500 for ceremony and I am sure they will give you a good deal fo a SUnday brunch.. and its right by the water.

Re: Wedding ideas
They have a few places on the water in New Rochelle also like The Surf Club, Beckwith Pointe, VIP Country Club, Greentree Country Club.. For dinner they were about avg, but I never priced them for a brunch..
Being a bride on a budget who wanted a beach wedding myself, I have to tell ya...look in Thursdays! You get a lot more bang for your buck if you do it on a Thursday. I thought I wanted my RH on the water, but after visiting about 17 places, I just couldn't find what I was looking for. I went to Jericho Terrace, just so see it basically, and I ended up booking because I fell in love with their room. I'm going to take pics on the beach before I get to the RH.
