well...we had arranged with the church to have a cookie and coffee reception right after ceremony due to ceremony starting at 5 and cocktail hour at Villa Lombardi's not starting till 8pm. well yesterday I was told by church that we cannot use the room so we can't do cookies/coffee. now the guests will have 2 hrs in between church and RH. Church is in bohemia and RH in holbrook---5min from each other. Do you think its ok if we don't do anything for guests to compensate for the no church reception thing. can they just find something to do on own or is it our responsibility to find something for them to do for 2 hours......need help!!!!

Re: wedding in 17 days!!!!
2 hours is nothing. Most people have 3-4 hour gap.
I would not worry, they can figure something out

Dont worry about them..they will find something to do to keep themselves occupied.

Re: wedding in 17 days!!!!
I've been to weddings with much longer gaps. 2 hours will give people time to go home / to their hotel and change for the party.

Re: wedding in 17 days!!!!
I have actually never been to a wedding where the couple gave the guests something to do in between.... Usually people have to fend for themselves in between!

Re: wedding in 17 days!!!!
dont worry.....usually only very close family and friends come to the church anyway. they can always go back home/or to the hotel in between to get ready. that is what i usually do - or i skip the church

Re: wedding in 17 days!!!!
Don't worry...most couples who do get married in a church as opposed to the rh have a gap. It is very common so I'm sure your guests will find something to do. Don't stress. If it really concerns your FMIL can she have some of her guests go to her house for some light refreshments?

OMG...You HAVE to find something for them to do...2 hours is a REALLY LONG time!
Okay okay...I'm lying...sorry...I couldn't resist Everyone was being too easy on you...
Seriously...I think your guests will be fine. I have 2.5 hours between my church and RH too...Don't even worry about it.
