Wedding Insurace

Anyone taking out wedding insurance? If so, who are you using? I am getting married in February and was wondering if it is necessary, especially with all the crazy weather we have had in the past.

I was debating, but since I haven't really found an ins.co. who sells it, I guess I'm not going to get it.

Wedsafe is one of the more commonly used.

The company I was told you use was the WEDSAFE. I just didn't want to spend $300+ on insurance until I know if they are legit.

I considered the insurance, then I kinda forgot about it and now I lost interest.

I thought about wedding insurance and kind of forgot about it too. However, I did have a friend end up having a cake and champagne reception in the lobby of her apartment building since her wedding on a cruise ship was cancelled. That was 9/15/01 and (several days after 9/11/01). 9/15 was the date that 4 generations of her family had been married so they did not want to wait another year.

They got back almost 75% of the deposits - all but the rehearsal dinner. She ended up taking some school friends to the dinner instead since her family and friends could not fly in (airports closed).

I'm considering it too b/c I'm also worried about February weather.

But heres a tip for anything:
Use your credit card instead of cash or check to pay for bridal gown photographer cake etc or any large purchases. A special federal consumer law protects all deposits and payments made with credit cards. The law is called Federal Regulation C and entitles consumers to receive refunds if merchandise delivered doesn't live up to whats promised - however it only applies to purchases over $50 in your home state or within 100 miles of your mailing address. - this does not apply to debit cards or cash advance checks.

Re: Wedding Insurace

I've been going back and forth on whether or not I should get it. The main reason in my case would be for sudden deployments. On all of my contracts it states that groom is in the Navy and all deposits and payments will be moved to another available date if deployed, so I'm not sure if I should also get the insurance. I still have time to decide though.
