wedding insurance????

We used WedSafe. There are five different types of coverage and at various levels of coverage. DH and I chose only event (cancellation) and liability coverage and paid approximately $540 for both. Our wedding probably cost the average amount for an LI wedding, and the coverage was a bit short of that--we were willing to eat the rest if we had to file a claim. Read the policies carefully to see what kind of events are and aren't covered.

It was definitely optional for us. Do a search on this topic. In a previous thread, there was a couple who had their wedding on the water and the threat of cancellation due to weather was real.

Check your homeowner's or renter's policy, which may cover liability as well. You may already be covered in an amount you feel is sufficient.
