wedding insurance

wedding insurance

Hey ladies - I could really use some help/insight into wedding insurance. I want to get it for the peace of mind in case of inclement weather, but I don't know if it has to be some sort of natural disaster or complete travesty in order for the insurance to be of any use.

Anyone have any experience or recommendations as far as companies go? I've heard of markel and wedsafe and I just want to make sure it's legit. Any info would help! TIA!

I did a bunch of research and purchased from wedsafe. There's a lot included in the insurance - vendors that don't follow through with their commitments, stolen gifts, postponements (for most reasons other than a 'change of heart'), and the inclement weather (that renders the venue unusable or 50% of the guests to not attend).

I did it especially for the bad weather; we're getting married about a week after Hurricane Irene hit, and if that had been our wedding, we would've had to postpone and would have been out.

For the amount you're spending on the wedding I'd definitely say a couple hundred bucks is worth the peace of mind.

Wedsafe is legit, heavily reviewed, and I called their customer service with a few questions and they were fantastic. Our venue told us once that a wedding had to be delayed because the bride had a nervous breakdown and the insurance kicked in (because it was postponed for health reasons). So who knows, hopefully we won't have to use it, but I know we're safe if we need to.

Thank you!! I'm leaning towards wedsafe, I'll give them a call tomorrow. Thanks again!

I bought from wedsafe for all the same reasons. One of the biggest reasons is the liability insurance. Money well spent.
