Update: Well FH just told him that we are going since he's running down there now to give them the final count. LOL guess that settles that.

I personally wouldn't go...you've only known each other a few weeks and like you said, you may have to extend an invite out of courtesy when you are already over your #. Since it is a last minute thing it's not that hard to say you forgot you had plans etc.
Aside from hardly knowing the guy, I just would want to keep my landlord a landlord...not a buddy.
eta: just the fact that you said 'he dragged' u guys to a bar and the faces have me thinking you're not too into it. Is he the kind of guy you'd be friends with?

I'd decline but make up some excuse. I guess that's hard if he's your landlord though huh? You'd actually have to be out of the house.
Maybe give him a small gift or something and a card saying 'Wish we could've attended!'
