Hey ladies!!! I was just wondering for girls out there who were having their wedding paid for by their parents what is your wedding invite saying??? Are you doing Mr. and Mrs. X request your presence at the marriage of their daughter Y to Z or Mr. and Mrs. X and Mr. and Mrs. W request your presence at the marriage of their children Y and Z. Got in an argument with my dad and just want to see your feelings. TIA!!!

Re: Wedding Invite Wording
My parents paid for 90% of our wedding.
My invitation said
Mr. & Mrs. Michael Angelo request the honour of your presence at the marriage of their daughter Michelle Lea to Jason Richard Barbely
then it went on to give the information

Unless your inlaws are paying too, it should just have your parents names. If they pay, they are the hosts.

That's exactly what I said!!!! But he said its going to start a rift between the families. They have offered to help with nothing and have just been a huge problem with the guest list, so I don't think they should be on there

youre absolutely right... they should only be on there if you want them to be if they arent contributing at all!!!
FH's parents arent contributing at all either... so i left them off the invite as well... FMIL is a complete psycho that may not even be at the wedding... and FFIL is oblivious to everything that doesnt revolve around his work

Re: Wedding Invite Wording
I would have the salesperson at the invite store tell you the proper wording for your invites. That way your fh hears it from a third party so he understands it is proper.
If they have a problem tell them to pay for the invites and their names can be included.

That sounds like a good idea.
We're paying for ours so we're not putting parent's names.

Re: Wedding Invite Wording
our parents split the cost of the ceremony & rh, so we just put 'together with their parents' on the invite.

Re: Wedding Invite Wording
We're using the second option because FIL's are paying for our RD and HM.
