Wedding Locations....Don't break the bank!

Wedding Locations....Don't break the bank!

Hello ladies...how are you all?? I haven' t been on here in forever but I need some advice!

I have previously planned and then cancelled two weddings! I have lost a total of $25,000 on both weddings (How disgusting is that??). Its all a really long story, but worked out for the best!

Now, since the third time is a charm...lol, I would like to go much simpler! I'm looking for a venue that is simple, not too overdone, and priced perfectly! It'll probably be by the end of this year.

I almost thought of eloping but I really don't want to miss the things like dancing w/ my dad and having my besties around!

Anyone have any ideas on a unique location that is not a wedding factory??

Thanks for your help!

Fox Hollow is definatly unique. I thought it had a little something different than all the other RHs we visited. The prices they quoted us were excellent as well.

Also, Ariana Waterfall is very different from the other RHs we looked at. It's one wedding at a time, and includes a package deal. I don't think its very well known-it's located on Hempstead Turnpike in West Hempstead. I loved the inside, its beautiful! The outside not so much.

You can get a great deal at a pretty location at the West Sayville Country Club. FM me if you want more details.

We had our reception at George Washington Manor in Roslyn. They have a few different sized rooms.

It is different from the other Reception Halls.

Fox Hollow gave us the best price out of all the RH's we visited. We could have even gotten a cheaper quote if we went with a daytime wedding in the winter. Plus they put in so many throw ins, and even a free night at the inn next door if you get married in the winter (but they took this away from us when we decided to go with an afternoon in June)

Douglaston Manor is definitely unique..spanish style old fashioned mansion with high ceilings. It overlooks the golf course and you can see the NYC skyline.

The are very affordable, and offer a complete package.

Good luck with your search!!!

We just got married at Bridgeview Yacht Club. It was excellent!

Our wedding was small (only 80 people) and they really worked with us on different ideas. A Sunday Brunch was only $47 pp and the food was amazing.

we ha our reception at Larkfield Manor and I cannot say enough good things about the place and the people that run it.

they have a large room and a smaller one that holds up to 120 people. that's the room we had awith a guarantee of only 60. Even with that small number they treated us as if it were a 300 person wedding and everything was perfect. The price is great and you get so much for it that people would guess you spent double what you did. Ours was on a Sunday which helped with the cost. We had a holiday Sunday and they didn't charge more for that either.

their motto is 'Elegance in Catering' and it truly is.

I would highly recommend to check them.

Try Windows on the Lake and Chateau La Mer. Also, if you have your wedding on a Thursday or Sunday and/or in the winter, prices are even more reasonable.

Thanks everyone for all the great locations!!

I'm gonna have a lot of work to do...I didn't shop around much for the last two I planned. I knew where I wanted to go and that was that. This time, I am attempting to be resonable with my $$!

I'm going to check them all out except for Windows on the Lake, beautiful place, but I had my sweet 16 there and although it was a long time ago, I'd rather have a change for the wedding lol.

But thanks so much again!

The Bayview is starting to do small weddings. They are on the water in Queens. Check them out! Jamie and her husband Rob own it. Jamie was on these boards while she was planning her wedding (jboota22).

we LOVED our hall, Danfords in Port Jefferson. We got such personal service and it was perfect for our wedding. We had just under 100 people, and we found we got more bang for our buck there than anywhere else we looked.
