My cousin and I have been debating over whether she should have a wedding mass or ceremony. She says she wants to have a quick ceremony in church so she can have beautiful pictures. I am offended by her reasoning! I am having a mass because I have a strong belief in God and the church. When you are married in church it is a sacrament and therefore you should choose to make the sacrament based on your faith, not for a superficial reason. She never goes to church and has said that she sees no reason in going. I do not think that going to church makes me a better Catholic, but if you don't believe in going to Church I don't think you should get married in one. She actually called me to help her with readings. She doesn't even know the parts of the mass! I see no reason why she doesn't just get married at a reception hall with a judge.

Re: wedding mass debate
i happen to agree, but remember, as good catholics we're taught not to judge ;) ive come acorss this situation many times..u kinda just have to worry about you, and not what someone else is doing, as hard and as offensive as it may be to you...let her deal with Him ;)
