I am looking for some recommendations for my music for my wedding. We are having trouble deciding between band vs. DJ. My father who is helping pay for the music really likes the idea and the 'entertainment/ personality' that a band can provide. My finace and I are dead set on having our wedding song played by the original artist and do not want a band to learn it. So they will have to play it on a CD. (this I hear is not a problem with bands) I am also worried about the 'trendy' more contemporary music being played for the young crowd, as much as the rest of the music for the guests. Any thoughts ladies? PS- the band we are considering is Code Bleu and the DJ company we are considering is bodyrock. If any of you ladies have used their services at your wedding I would love to hear from you. Thanks!

Re: Wedding music
you can always do a band AND a DJ?
Also, there are some DJ's that can add live elements to their packages, so it's kind of the best of both worlds. I know Bravura does it. I looked into it, but decided to just go with a DJ because I liked the sound of all the real artists doing the songs.
There are some bands out there that I feel try to be the center of attention, and that's personally what I didn't want on my wedding day. There is one band that I didn't get that feeling with, and that's The Mystic, who my friend at at her wedding. If I was going to go with a band, it would have been them.
Good luck making your decision! And I see this is your first post! Welcome to these boards! Congratulations on your engagement!!
