So we're having a destination wedding. We know some people are traveling with their children and have asked us if they are invited to the wedding. Essentially-no, but we can't very well say that when it's a DW. So we're telling people that they are more than welcome BUT there will be a babysitter at the hotel in a suite if they would like to utilize her (and giving them her fees).
FMIL thinks that we can't leave infants with a sitter (1 or 2 children are under a year old)Ummm...isn't it really up to the parents whether they feel comfortable?? How is this really my problem?? Sorry....just venting a bit.

Re: Wedding night babysitting issue
we had a sitter at our wedding for my little cousins and then there was a 6 month old and a 18 month old that just stayed in their strollers in the reception room with us. Honestly, you wouldn't have even known they were there. I think it should be up to the parents whether or not they want to leave their children with a sitter or keep them with them.

Re: Wedding night babysitting issue
I agree that it should be up to the parents, if your FMIL is worried about small children I would see if there was another sitter that could come and help and give parents with the small children the sitters fee. hope that makes sense
