Wedding Nightmares (Again)
I know other people have posted about their wedding nightmares but I just ahd one and it kinda upset me. It's like now that it's 3 months away (less than 100 days!), I'm having all this planning anxiety.First of all, I couldn't find my dress, then when I did find it, it didn't fit, no hair/makeup lady, couldn't find deodorant!!! I was yelling at everyone and being super nasty.
Then all of a sudden I was married and blacked out the whole ceremony and reception!! Like it didn't happen! But the ring was on my finger (an ugly one, too). I was crying and screaming.
THis is the second or third I've had, I'm hoping I don't keep having them too often because they're quite disturbing!!
Just had to share.

I started having nightmares as soon as I started booking vendors. I had nightmares about the flowers...the dress...you name it!

I never thought I would have them, but the other night mine was about the Hair lady never showing up and we couldn't find a replacement so all the BM did my hair and it was horrible. How funny is that?

Re: Wedding Nightmares (Again)
I've been engaged for 3 months and I have had some weird ones. My most recent was a Married with children nightmare. I have been out of work for 3 months (I just got a job. i start monday) but with me out of work it has caused some conflicts between FI and I. I had a nightmare that I was sitting on the couch and he walked in and i had the whole peg bundy look going on and I said to him hey give me money I need to go shopping for the wedding.I've had other nightmares where I walked into church and I wasnt wearing a wedding dress. I had on a white outfit and was carrying hand picked flowes from a yard. It was so odd.
I also had a nightmare that I didnt have vendors on my wedding day.
Everyone has them

Re: Wedding Nightmares (Again)
Well, thanks for helping me not feel like a weirdo. I haven't had any recently where it involved my FH not showing up, mostly with just everything going wrong the morning of. But I remember back when we first got engaged, they were more about him not showing or calling it off.I guess my anxiety has shifted from him to me! With less than 100 days to go, I'm nervous as all HeL! that I'll forget to do something and wind up totally screwed.

I've had nightmares too. In one I thought I called off the wedding but hten the photographer showed up at my house and I didn't have a dress so I had to wear something I had. Then in another one just like you I blacked out the whole wedding I couldn't remember one thing that happened but I knew the wedding was over. I wish FH would have these dreams instead of me.

Re: Wedding Nightmares (Again)
They are very common, I've been having them. I just read in Martha Stewart Weddings fall 2002 or Bridal Guide 2003(can't remember which one) about this. Some of those dreams in there were very similar to mine. Honestly, I think it is a way for our brains to do some housecleaning while under a lot of stress. I often have thoughts about problems with the dress, limos etc...and some of them are valid..so I write them down in my planner. LOL, you are not alone.

Re: Wedding Nightmares (Again)
dcbride - isn't that weird how we both had that same dream where we couldn't remember the wedding? I guess that would be the worst, all the planning and everything and then having no memories of it!

Re: Wedding Nightmares (Again)
I have wedding nightmares all the time too. But if it makes you feel any better, everyone has told me that the exact opposite will happen in reality. So if you have a dream that your wedding is a disaster that just means in reality it will be a huge success.
