I receied a lot of that stuff for my shower. But the one I loved most which was the most appropriate for my wedding night was an outfit my Mom gave me.
Traditionally, the MOB buys the outfit for her daughter but it doesn't have to be that way. If you dont get anything you like for your shower buy it yourself

Yeah, I'm dumping my big t-shirt and plaid pj bottoms... come on girl, you can do it too.
FH loves garters so I promised him I'd get some for wedding night/honeymoon.
I just picture myself with kids, ten years from now finding the garters at the bottom of my drawer and laughing... oh yeah, remember when... WOOO-HOOO... and then my daydream being interrupted by my kids screaming from the other room and the dog barking

At my shower my mom gave me a really nice silk robe and nightgown ivory...from Macy's and it is just perfect

I have a chapel organza veil -- I was thinking of wearing the veil (and nothing else)
...maybe wrapping it around myself
...all the other pretty toys can wait till the honeymoon

My mom is buying it for me! Kind of odd but nice. FOr me though I am sure it will be the evening after attire as I don't see me and FH doing much of anything but sleeping that night with getting up at 5:30am and the after party ending at 11:30pm! Long day!

I think I look better naked than in lingerie. When I wear something lingerie-ish my imperfections are more apparent. So who knows what I'll do?

FSIL got me a long white neglige (sp?) so I'll probably wear that. I got 10 pieces of lingerie at my shower so that will be more than enough.

Its actually called a Peignoir and its usually given by the MOH or by your mom. Traditionally it is a beautiful white nightgown/lingerie with lace or some sort of 'decoration'. Every one I have ever seen is just beautiful.
