My wedding is this Saturday, I've got a mountain of work to do at the office before I head off, and tons of last minute wedding stuff.
Aside from rest, which I'm not going to get a chance to do, are there any other measures I can take?
How about Zicam? i've never used it...

Re: Wedding on 11/17 - getting a cold... advice?
You should be fine my Saturday. Just drink lots of fluids (especially lemon tea) and get a full night's sleep Friday night.

Vitamin C and Zicam! Zicam has helped me a lot in the past! Take your vitamins and rest, too!

there's something called emergen-c it's a powder mix thats 1000mg of vitamin C you can pick it up at CVS then go to a health store an d buy echinacea, it's in a little bottle and has a dropper on top. Drink the emergen-c morning and night with a few drops of echinacea in it - it will load you up on vitamins. I do this anytime I feel a cold coming on or whenever my FH gets sick. It really works and if I do get sick it only lasts a day or two and it makes you feels tons better. FM me if you have any questions.

So's my family!!!!!!!!!! I've been using it for about three yrs. Do be careful, taking too much Vitamin C, as it can cause diarrhea. Mary MOB

LOVE airborne! but u hafta take it as soon as u feel it coming on! once ur sick (for me atleast) it doesn't work as good...but take it as SOON as u start feelin' groggy or when u know ur gonna have a pile up of work & no rest? the it kicks anything right outta ur system..and the original flavor tastes like Tang! yummy

echinacea and goldenseal (the liquid formula, which you can get from GNC, works the best... just have to mix it with something with a flavor since its kinda gross)

Ditto to all of the above. I've also head that sinus irrigation can help prevent or cut down the duration of colds, although I haven't done it while sick myself. You can get it at the drugstore under the brand SinuCleanse. Or use a neti pot.

Here is Dr. Christien's 2 cents....
take lots and lots of vitamin C
if you are stuffy, take robitussin or tylenol cold with gauffacin (sp) b/c it will break everything up.
Start taking Airborne along with your regular vitamins. You dissolve it in a little water and drink it down. It comes in different flavors and gives your system an extra boost to fight infection. It will help all around.....for your cold and for energy. I happen to be taking it right now too because I feel a cold coming on and don't want to be sick for Thanksgiving since I'm cooking. Good luck and have a beautiful wedding!!!
