I don't know any long island venue but a chinese wedding which is just a 10-12 course dinner at a restaurant can run about $500 per table of 10. That might be more affordable since you don't necessarily need a DJ, centerpieces can be very simple, and the packages for photographers, dresses etc from the asian wedding centers are pretty affordable.The only ones I can think of though are in Flushing and Chinatown.
