wedding on valentines day??

Hi everyone..just wondering what other brides think of getting marry on valentines day? we got a really nice quote from our dream place for 2/14/15. i think its really romantic and want to book that day but FH thinks its a bad idea and ppl might want to spend the day on their own. hmmmm so hard to decide :(

I guess it all depends on the couple. We don't go crazy for v-day because our anniversary is the 28th. For me, I wouldnt mind going to a wedding on v-day. I think it's romantic. Maybe ask some friends/family their opinions before booking just to get other opinions :)

This! I would ask around. I don't think many people would mind. I've been to a wedding on the 4th of July and was invited to one on Thanksgiving day (which we did not attend lol)

My brother and FSIL just booked for 2/14/15. It didnt bother me so much but it did bother my FH since we usually go skiing on vday regardless of what day of the week it is.. Looks like we will be skipping skiing in 2015. Kind of a bummer but it is what it is!

it's not like they have to spend every Valentine's day with u, it's just oneyear I. think if people have a problem with it they don't deserve to be there!

out of curiosity what venue? and was a different date that much of a difference Iin price?

same thing with us, we wanted to have it in feb2014 at first but its too close. Not enough time to finish my DIY project. I'm planning to make my own centerpiece and chair decos. :)

Skiing for Valentines Day is a tradition for us too Unfortunately we have to choose between that and our anniversary winery trip next year though and winery is in the lead...

i would ask the most important, closest people to you what they think. i am torn - i don't think i would personally care, but some people would for sure.

in the end, you do what YOU want - those who matter won't mind and will make sure they're there!

I am a Valentines Day bride! I am having no problem with people coming, in fact we are probably going to be way over where we wanted to be..

I like the idea! Last V Day FH and I went out to eat and it was so crowded!! we totally would've loved to be celebrating at a wedding than fighting for space or a table at a crowded restaurant. BONUS you get to hang with a bunch of friends and celebrate! My bridesmaid is getting married on a holiday this yr and I think it is a great idea, weddings don't happen often people can accommodate this one time!!
