Wedding Party
My fiance and I are having trouble in deciding if we want a wedding party. We have alot of close friends. I have two sisters and he has three brothers. Initially, we decided to have just our siblings. My sister said I would be missing out if I did not have a wedding party. When my fiance and I starting listing the friends we would like to have, it came out to 18 people! Is that too much??? Of course, my fiance says its my decision!!!! I am torn......

I vote for having as many as you want
There's no such thing as too many (though there are cost considerations). But I think you should have all the people you want. We have 6 bridesmaids, and my fiance is still determining the groomsmen but it'll at least be 6. We also have a ring bearer and flower girl so we're not so far off from 18. When my fiance's sister got married the groom had 13 groomsmen - it was a riot.

What I did
My fiancee has alot of friends and family as well. What we did was instead of having a big bridal party, we choose only friends and family who we were very close with, but everyone else had a roll in the wedding, like doing a reading at the church, bringing up gifts, etc.

Wedding Party
I was originally only going to have just my bridesmaid and the best man, but then my fiance wanted his sister to have a role, so then we decided to have a wedding party of 4. I thought this would be way too small, but someone brought it to my attention that this is our day, and do WHATEVER you want. I think this is very good advice. :)

Tough decision
Go with your heart on this one. But just keep in mind how difficult it could be to make arrangements for so many people .. dress fittings, tux fittings, etc. And know that tensions may rise. For our wedding, we wanted people we knew we could count on, and who we felt confident will be with us through thick and thin for years to come. This was more difficult on my husband`s side than mine, because he has remained friends with many guys from high school. However, there is one who really stands alone from the rest, and he stood up for my husband, along with my husband`s brother. On my side, I had my sister-in-law and my closest friend. My two brothers did readings, and my huband`s brother`s wife sang during the ceremony. My niece and nephew were the flowergirl and ringbearer. Obviously everyone`s situation is different, and a large wedding party has been done before. Good Luck with your decision.

Go For It!
Do you feels natural to you! I was worried at first because my FI and I aren't going to have the same #. I have 6 bridesmaids and he has 9 groomsman, so we have 15 people all together!

My Bridal Party is large too!
I decided that I waited 31 years for this day so why not do what I really want. I have my sister (maid of honor), my best friend (matron of honor), 2 friends, best friend's 14 year old daughter, my SIL, my finances 2 sisters plus a flower girl. He has my 3 brothers, his brother (best man), 3 friends, my best friends 10 year old plus his nephew and my nephew as ring bearers. I will cost more in flowers, limo and bridal party gifts. But I am very happy with my decision! The only piece of advise: Don't have all of the girls look for the BM dress. Take your sisters and decide. Then tell everyone what your decision. I took my best friend and my sister (both very different body types and personalities). We found a dress that looked great on both of them. I also picked a color that is not hard to wear, deep purple. Most people look nice in it. Yellow on the other hand does not always look great on everyone. Have Fun!!!Welcome New Vendors
