Wedding Party dilema, creative roles

Hi all.

I want a very small bridal party, just a MOH, FG,RB,AND BM, however my fi wants to include his 3 brothers in the party, I am adamant about not having bridesmaids, I do not want to deal with the hassle of finding dresses to try and make everyone happy etc. Can you help me find a way to have my way but also include my FI brothers?

Yes...do exactly what you just said...have your way and let FI have his! The whole idea of having your bridal party even is not even an issue nowadays...actually it seems there are more brides with uneven and nontraditional BP's. Don't feel like you need to have equal BP's. Do want you want and don't worry about what others have done.

wow, this is the EXACT opposite of what my problem was, however, I still have 1 MOH, 8 BM's, 2 FG, 1 RB, & 9 GUYS inluding BM... It was VERY tough for me, but there are still a few ladies I have not used. I am probably going to have one do a reading, one hand out programs and I will be sure to keep them involved in my planning throughout the year, HOWEVER, with guys it may be different, let's see......

Are you not using guys at all??? Are you getting married at a church? You'll need special guys to walk those special ladies to their seats in the church, a reading is a special job, um... ask one of them to give a toast at your reception.... I hope I helped a little.. If i think of more I'll be sure to respond!

Doreen is right - you can have just a MOH, and your FI can have his groomsmen. It's called a King's Court wedding, and actually I think it looks very nice! Best wishes to you!

If you're having a church ceremony, I'm sure you could use more ushers. Maybe something like that?

I also did not want a bridal party so I have just a MOH
If I were you I would have the brothers just be ushers, let em walk down the isle if it makes you FH happy. I think it can be done like that without having bridesmaids.

Hi.

What a bevy of responses!!!!

I am getting married at my reception site.

I thank you for your suggestions.

I will pose the scenario of having the guys just stand with him at the altar.

About the Kings Court Thing, do the guys stand on both sides?

During the recessional can they walk down by themselves or should I have them escort some of my aunts?
