Maybe have her do a reading at the ceremony?

Also, what do you mean by at the reception when everyone dances with their partner? I've never seen this before.

oh really??? maybe its just a PA thing...lol..

but every wedding ive been too ((in pa)) the wedding party is introduced at the beginning of the reception, and then the whole bridal party dances..usually a slower song..with their partner..

Re: wedding party question

All the weddings I've been to introduce the BP, then the bride and groom, and then the bride & groom have their first dance. I've never been to or been in a wedding where the BM's and GM's dance together (if they're not couples of course).

I'm from Queens and every wedding I have gone to (not that many 5) all the GM & BM danced about 2/3 of the way through the 1st song

i have seen some weddngs that do this and some that dont

the bride and groom dance to their first song and then the dj will ask the bridal party to join...so u dance with ur partner and then when everyone joins in you dance with ur real date...

Interesting.....I've really never seen this before. To be honest, I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable with it either, since a lot of GM's and BM's don't necessarily know each other. I know when my best friend got married, I was a bridesmaid and met the GM that I was walking with at the RD the night before. I would've felt very awkward dancing with him, also b/c we both had significant others.

But it looks like I'm the oddball here as the other posters have seen it around LI and Queens. Guess I haven't been to enough weddings yet

Re: wedding party question

I'm giving my BM's & GM's the option to dance with who ever they like for the first dance since most of them have significant others or are married. I'm going to ask the DJ to request that the guests take the dance floor rather than the BP and then the guest to take away from anything feeling awkward.

Actually all the weddings I've been in, the bridal party danced with each other for the first dance.

Re: wedding party question

you could have the girl do a reading if you are getting married in church. or hand out programs or bubbles or bird seed for right after the ceremony.

as far as the dance at the recepetion goes, every wedding i have been in when the people start dancing me & FH would find each other & dance together. i have never danced with someone from the wedding party.
