I will not be using a wedding planner or a DOC. Is that a bad idea I have OCD and am just a type of person who needs to do my own thing and get my hands dirty.

Re: Wedding Planner
I didn't use a wedding planner or a DOC and everything went perfectly smoothly. I spent a lot of time researching my vendors, checking out reviews about them, and ironing out any concerns. The biggest issue of the day we had was I forgot my sneakers at home so I'd call that a success!

Re: Wedding Planner
Lots of weddings have gone off without a hitch without the assistance of a wedding or a DOC. It's something that if you have the extra money and can afford one, it's nice to have that person be there to do stuff and handle things so you don't have to worry about it, but it totally unnecessary.

Re: Wedding Planner
We did not have a planner or a DOC and everything went off without a hitch!! Our RH staff (bridal attendants, MD, manager) were all beyond amazing and on-point that I can't even imagine having a DOC on the scene....
I relied heavily on the hair/makeup team to devise a day-of getting ready schedule! While they were not from the same place they work together really often and had a wonderful rhythm in place for us! No rushing or stress getting ready - just prosecco and great times!

I have no interest in a wedding planner. I would wind up doing all the legwork anyway because I like getting things done my way.

Re: Wedding Planner
You should be fine. I had a DOC and honestly, I dont think I needed her. That being said, it was nice to have her as a back up

Re: Wedding Planner
We're not using a wedding planner or a DOC. If I had having my reception outside of an RH I might consider it, but between the maitre'd and the bridal attendants I think we'll have enough help

Re: Wedding Planner
I used a wedding planner and DOC and was so happy I did!! However, they are definatly not a necessity. It's just a matter of how much you're willing to handle If you can take care of everything on your own (or of course with help from friends and family- go for it!)

Re: Wedding Planner
There was actually a post lately about DOCs under $500 in case you are also concerned with the money which may be helpful. I just like the idea of knowing that I am not the go-to person in case issues arise...I want myself and my family to just be relaxed!!

I think that if you have the money for it I'm all for it but if not I think you can do without it.

If you are an organized person, you don't need a DOC or Planner. You will be fine
