Wedding planner

Has anyone considered hiring a wedding planner? And if so what exactly do you look for in a planner someone to plan the entire wedding or just someone to help out the day of?

Re: Wedding planner

I'm not hiring a wedding planner, but almost everyone I have spoken to has said that it will make your day 100 times easier if you hire a day-of coordinator. (and that a full service wedding planner is not usually necessary) There are a lot of great coordinators that will work with you that have really reasonable rates on the site (like I got an email from one of them that charges $600 for 10 hours on the day of your wedding) - and if you have a lot of decorations and vendors to keep track of, it might be a huge load off your shoulders to make sure that everything will be on track the day-of. If I were having a bigger wedding, I absolutely wouldn't want to do it myself, and if you're the kind of person that doesn't want to be running around checking on details on your wedding day, it might be a good investment.

However, if you already have a RH you might want to talk to the BM and see what services they offer. A lot of halls are willing to provide day-of coordinator services for free if you give them all your decorations and let them know what you want.

I hired a wedding planner. I'm planning from out of state (I'm still in New England), but FH is out in the midwest. So having a planner on LI is really helpful. Plus she takes so much stress out of wedding planning. It is wonderful!

I'm trying to pick between Cheeky Glam, Sincerely Yours Events, & Precision Wedding Planning.

Its pretty tough. I just need partial planning. The one my RH is providing are a bit 'special' to say the least.

I heard the one thing that brides wished they had at their wedding was a DOC. So I got one. So far so good!

FH and I work close to 60Hr/week so we decided a wedding planner was necessary. All but 3 people total out of our 12 bridal party are out of state and they work almost as much as we do.

I'm going with Cheeky Glam. They were fabulous from the first conversation :)

CherylJ Weddings was really snotty and L'Atelier was more than I could afford but are amazing people!

i have been planing from out of state and i have a lot of decorations i need set up that my hall was not willing to do bc i did not rent them from the hall ie chair covers and sashes.

They have been so helpful with everything even though i only hired them for day of.
