Hi Ladies! So I toyed with this idea when I first got engaged. But I really think I want a day of coordinator. I was going to meet Cheeky Glam but then I backed out. Can anyone share quotes for the day of coordinator with me and tell me what was the main reason for booking one??? I may just buy it for me because I cant handle the stress

I was going to do one and backed out as well. I thought about it and realized that the only thing that freaked me out was handling the tip envelopes, but my dad offered to hold onto them and pass them out for me. Personally, I would save my money, make a list of what is needed to do the week of, and assign a job or two to each of the *responsible* bridesmaids, MOH, parents, etc. There are so many people who love to help out, and I'm sure you can think of some people that can help you to stay organized. If you organize ahead of time, and you still have over a year to do so, you will be nice and relaxed on the wedding day!

I think between you, your BMs, and your bridal attendant you shouldn't have too much to worry about. I think that if you organize everything, make lists, use envelopes, etc you will be just fine.

Crashing... I'm booked with A Modern Day Affair and couldn't be happier. I am a high stress person (as is my mother) and I didn't want to worry about anything on my wedding day. I know that having someone to keep me calm is worth it to me lol. Plus, I don't want my girls, mom, or FMIL to worry about anything.
Edited for my apparent lack of spelling ability lol.

I booked in like March of 2012, so my quotes aren't accurate anymore.

I'm booked with cheeky... I liked the concept of having a DOC so I met with them and realized just how much they would take care of:
They bring an 'emergency kit' with anything you could possibly need. They have copies of all your contracts and make sure that none of your vendors show up late, set anything up wrong. Etc. they also call all vendors to confirm before the wedding FOR YOU, one less thing to worry about. They can diffuse any awkward or weird situations on the wedding day, bustle your dress, make sure everything goes smoothly. I loved all of this especially since it meant that when I'm like 'oh!!! I forgot to tell so and so to blah blah blah' (whatever it is) they can be on top of It instead of one of my family members or bridesmaids leaving my side.

I booked with cheeky as well cause I stress easily and just don't want to deal with it. But I have them as partial planners I don't know what if the pricing still applies as well cause I booked in 2012.

Although I did not book a DOC bc I feel like I am one myself haha I would HIGHLY recommend the ladies at A Modern Day Affair! I know them all and have heard many people who have worked with them who couldn't be happier. I don't have quotes, but email Laura- she's great!!

I booked a DOC that is fairly new to the business so she is super affordable! FM if you'd like her info.

Same here. So far they have been such a huge help to me. They answer all my emails immediately and love talking to me about my wedding (which is great for when my friends are sick of hearing it). I booked with them b/c if something goes wrong on my wedding day, which something probably will since it's inevitable, I don't want myself, mom, or sister (MOH) to even know about it. I want this day that is costing so much $$$ to all of us to be as stress free as possible. This is the day I'm marrying my soul mate. I don't want to have to worry about the wrong flowers showing up! They literally take care of everything. If you're still unsure you should check out some of the reviews in the bridal review forum.

I booked a great DOC too! She's really been SOOOOOOOOOOO helpful so far with planning.. the best part is that its all been under her flat DOC price (which btw compared to many other companies is ridiculously inexpensive)
check out her site and if you contact her PLEASEEEEE let her know that Jess referred you!! EAEvents.weebly.com

I REALLY REALLY REALLLLLY wanted a DOC. FH was absolutely not on board, and since we are paying for a bulk of this on our own, I had to opt out of getting one :( I think about it a lot and realize that family, my bm's, and the bridal attendant will all be there for me on the day of. I know that they help out a lot BEFORE then, but we just cant justify spending that money when it can go to all of the little details we want. Keep an eye on groupon, they had an amazing deal not too long ago on a DOC that was pretty reputable!

I absolutely love my doc. I'm booked with Once Upon An Event, I got their groupon deal a while back that was too good for me to pass up. My reasoning was that I want someone there that's working for me, not the venue, and all the little details (ie: some DIY stuff for our centerpieces, my candy buffet, etc.) will be taken care of. I didn't want to leave the responsibility of that stuff to my mom or FMIL or my bridesmaids because I want them to enjoy themselves as much as me that day. They're very reasonably priced and they've been so sweet and helpful so far. HTH and good luck!
