Wedding Planner or DOC?

Wedding Planner or DOC?

For anyone who has a wedding planner or DOC, which do you think is more worth it? I can't decide if I need a full planner, although it's sooo expensive. How did anyone else make their decisions? Any suggestions for who to use? Thanks!!

Imo the planning is the best part! And its really not hard, a lot of brides do it and if you take your time and do what YOU want its best to do it yourself. They often tend to make you spend more because they make a % doc I don't think is necessary especially if you have enough reliable ppl in the bp

Make your own decisions without anyone influencing you.. and hire a DOC.

I'm using Christine from Piece of Cake.. fm me for details.

rumor has it DOC's get in the way!

a planner will be a person who plans with you from beginning to end, so i guess it all depends on your needs.

The only thing I would want from a planner, is their in's with certain vendors...

A vendor wants your money, but once the wedding is over they never see you again... but they may work with a planner for dozens of weddings, so they'll go out of their way to make sure the planner uses them again.

However, with so many choices in the categories I care about... photography, music, trans, etc, i think the competition is healthy enough that I can choose a good enough vendor on my own.

Jericho Terrace gives you a wedding planner when you book them and from the beginning I was dead set against it. I have dreamed about planning my wedding since I was six and enjoy EVERY second of it. I do not need someone else to plan for me.

I also didn't think I would want a DOC. However, after realizing how many little details I have and how anal I am- I decided that I would absolutely use one! I like the fact that the little things on the day of will be taken care of for me. Also, many DOC's will act as planners as well if you need any advice from them along the way. I am using Cynthia Ross from Cynthia Ross Affairs and she is so sweet, helpful, and responsive.

I am going it alone, but I have had friends use DOCs. Some liked the extra organization with larger bridal parties, but others thought it was a waste for a smaller wedding.

I think it depends on your level of organization (I am a total planner) and size of your wedding

I enjoy the actual planning process. I am very hands on and opinionated, so hiring a wedding planner never really crossed my mind. ( it's also not in my budget!) BUT I know my personality....which is I get stressed out and worried about every last detail. I know someone who does wedding planning, so I hired her as my DOC. In my mind anyone who can help organize the day (and my BP of 18) and take off any stress on me is worth it.

I absolutely LOVED my DOC - Regina from Cloud Nove Events - I don't know what I would have done without her.

IMO a wedding planner isn't neccessary unless you have a insane schedule

Re: Wedding Planner or DOC?

I hired a planner but my job is nuts and has me traveling a ton I wish that I had more time for the planning myself but I just don't. However, I love who I hired, she has been a pleasure to work with and super helpful plus her prices are reasonable for the amount of work that she is doing for me. I hired Katie from Sara Kate Events
FM me if you want more info
