Wedding Planner-to be or not???

Wedding Planner-to be or not???

Hi guys, I guess I'm getting nervous, since I am living abroad, I feel a bit stuck in my planning, because I can't 'see' vendors! So, I feel useless, and panicky. I'm considering a wedding planner, but I am concerned about the cost. What do you think? Is anyone using a wedding planner or DOC? Is there much benefit in using a wedding planner?

Sorry for the rant

there are lots of bennefits of using a planner ... they definitely help with the entire process.

i personally would have wanted one, but it wasn't worth the money to me (i feel like i can do just as good a job)

ps: for you, i don't think a DOC makes sense ... you still need to do the vendor-meetings and whatnot ... the DOC just makes sure the wedding day itself goes smoothly.

ETA: a DOC is great to have ... she just won't help you with the vendors

Some DOC's do help with vendors to an extent even without a planning package. Shop around!

I would hire a planner if I could have. Truth be told, I like this stuff, just didn't have the time to really do it. Would have loved someone else to take the meetings and get the deals.

Thanks guys! I do love the planning and FH is more than supportive. I know everything will work out, it's weighing up the cost/benefits of a Wedding Planner.

We'll see. Thanks for the encouragement.
