Wedding Planners

Has anyone bought any of the Wedding Planners either from this site or from elsewhere? If so, what do you think? Where did you get it from? Necessity? Luxury?

I'm thinking about buying one, but I feel like I want to buy EVERYTHING and if I keep buying things I'm going to spend all my money lol

TIA

Re: Wedding Planners

You can find ones that aren't terribly expensive in any bookstore. I got two as engagement gifts and am using one for all the hardcore details and the other as more of an inspiration, as it's more artsy and not-so-serious. They both have a LOT of great questions to ask vendors that I would have never thought of. I've only just started the planning process but both planners have certainly come in handy!

Re: Wedding Planners

I created my own with a 3 ring binder, tabs, sheet protectors, etc. I printed off a lot of info from diff bridal sites, budget plans, timeline, etc. Its nice, but you don't have to spend a lot of it.

Re: Wedding Planners

I have my own mini wedding binder with a notebook, post-its, a to-do list, and a 2009-2010 calendar. I find this to be a lot more helpful then any of the wedding planning books that I do have... I hardly look at them let alone use them! It's easier for me to use my own organization methods, etc. (I have OCD) I don't leave home without it!!!

Re: Wedding Planners

YESS my FI bought it for me for Valentines Day... I have the Complete Wedding Planner and organizer (I think that is the name) it's a big purple one binder style. It is GREAT!!! I keep all my paperwork in there, business cards, advertisements I get in the mail. This way when I am prepared to look that the vendors I have their info. It is also really informative. I know he got it from Amazon bc it was cheaper than B&N or Borders

Re: Wedding Planners

I bought this one from The Knot when I first got engaged. It's got some really helpful tips and ideas, checklists, questionnaires for vendors, and gives you budget breakdowns for everything. It also has business card holders, folders for contracts, and lots of pretty pictures

Re: Wedding Planners

I bought one at BM (The Deluxe Wedding planner (green binder) and my RH gave me one when signing ( I will save that one). It's good to keep all your pertinent information in, however I don't use it religiously because a lot of the info does not pertain to the type of wedding i am having. I took a lot of the unneccessary pages out to make room for other info that I may need.

Re: Wedding Planners

I bought an excellent one from Barnes and Noble. Its actually a binder, but it is super helpful as far as organizing is concerned. I am at work right now, so i can tell you more about it later or something.

Thanks girls!

Once I book, I think I'm going to see if the RH gives one, and if not, I'm going to buy it.

Re: Wedding Planners

My hall didnt give me one so I went out and got the perfect wedding planner at target. It's half book/half planner and the book part is actually really helpful. It gives you spreadsheets and checklists and stuff, it came in handy for somethings. Other than that I just have an accordian folder from Target that I file all my paperwork into...That seems to work better for me that having a whole big planner...
