so, I just signed up to go to the showcase at Fox Hollow next Wednesday and they guy asked me if I had ever been to a wedding planning tea party?
I think this is something that the Scotto Bros do through the Perfect Wedding Planner...but does anyone else have any hard facts?
details please!

I hear its fun, it is an actual tea party and its supposed to be just for the ladies, and they'll give you wedding tips and discuss vendors with you.
I'm going to the Fox Hollow event next week too. Can't wait, it'll be a mini food tasting for FH and I.

Jess, we're going to the event next week as well!
As far as the tea party - it's like Michelle said - just the ladies, over tea and some snacks and going over the wedding planning process through Perfect Party Planners.

I think its more for the ladies who do not have any of their vendors yet. Its a small bridal showcase. East Wind just started this too. They want you to book their house vendors.

I just went the other night to one Fortunoff's had...it was actually kinda of boring ...if you haven't picked your vendors then I guess its worth going to...they are promoting their vendors...wish I didn't waste the gas to go out there...oh well

Re: wedding planning 'tea party'
I went to the tea party at Fortunoff last Thursday the 7th. It was a waste of time, IMHO, although I will be getting a $25 gift card in the mail just for attending.
A wedding planner who wrote this book about wedding planning 'syndrome' spoke for about an hour and it practically put everyone to sleep! It annoyed me that she kept saying 'Your wedding is only 360 minutes! You need a wedding planner to help you pack everything you can into that short period of time.' I'm paraphrasing, but she kept saying the minute thing over and over and it annoyed me. She read aloud a two page vendor list, telling you horror stories about what will happen if you didn't use one a recommended vendor. If it wasn't threatening us with that, she was talking about her daughter's wedding from last year.
Then this woman from the Fortunoff bridal registry spoke briefly about how you should make an appointment to do your registry with her because if you didn't, you wouldn't know what to register for and it would take you too long to do it
The tea was this gross raspberry thing, and the food looked so old. I wish I would have gone to one at one of the Scotto's facilities instead. I was so excited to take my mother to a tea party, but this was a disappointment.
Oh well, at least I have the showcase on the 21st!

Ugh, I wish I knew another LIW bride was going. We could have sat at the same table and made fun of the presentations together! I asked that guy James where my gift card was and he said it would be coming in the mail along with a questionnaire about how I felt about the presentation. Wait until they get my honest review!
Wait: where did you sit?

Oh cool...I didn't even know about the $25 gift certificate. I hope mine comes in the mail. I was on the left hand side (if you were facing Francine) towards the back. I think there was one more row of tables behind me. I was with my Mom and there was only one other Mom at my table. The rest were brides.

Tara: were you sitting at the end of the table facing forward? Your pic looks familiar. I was at one of the tables by the front row with my little tiny mother who has a cane. Did you see me?
