wedding plaza experience

hi ladies

as per my FH, he asked me that i post this on here for my fellow LI brides...this is purely our experience and by no means meant to bad mouth any vendors

back in august, FH's sister got married and we used the wedding plaza in floral park for the tuxedos and bm dresses...fh was VERY unhappy with the way the tux came out, the sleeves were too long , the jacket didn't fit period, his pants felt like they were coming undone and the kicker is the jacket was ALSO missing buttons...

my own experience with the dresses were OK, not great but i guess it could've been worse...they made me buy a dress that was 2 sizes too big and had to do a lot of alterations ( i got my own alterations and not at the wedding plaza) and when i picked up the dress the sales lady just disappeared right after she brought my dress out, without telling me she would be right back or if i'm able to leave...she left it on the hook and didn't return for what must've been 10 mins, so i just marched myself into the fitting room to see how it looked...after i was done she still was missing in action, since the dress was already paid in full i just left...i get a call 10 mins after im on the road that she was looking for me?! i was a little confused to say the least. if shes missing for 20-30 mins and didn't tell me anything when she disappeared, i wasn't sure what i was to do and when i asked one of her colleagues she asked if it was paid and i said yes, she said she didn't see why i couldn't leave ..so i'm not too sure whose fault it was in this scenario...but my experience and FH's experience was not A+++++

Re: wedding plaza experience

I have just recently began working with them because my girls have been going in to get measured. I find them to be rude (leaving you waiting without telling you they will be back) and unprofessional. I am also finding that they are encouraging my girls to get larger sizes bacause 'of the cut of the dress'. Well, I think it might just be because larger sizes are an additional $30. I have told all of my BM's not to get their alterations there. They actually told one of my BM's that another one ordered a larger dress because she is trying to get pregnant. While this is true she has no place telling everyone about my BM's personal matter. I would never recommend them and am just praying that the dresses come out OK.

My mother got her dress there for my brother's wedding and didn't have much trouble with them. My SIL brought her wedding dress there to be altered (she bought one of the ann taylor's celebration dresses) and they charged her an outrageous alteration fee. my mother told them that was ridiculous to charge that amount of money when all she needed was a hem on a dress that had no fancy beadwork for delicate lace. they did knock $100 off the price.

on the 2nd part of this, wedding plaza also has an upstairs part with limos, photos, dj, etc. I went with one of my friends over the summer to meet with these people because her FH could not make it, and she figured we could both get something accomplished. anyway, the photographer was extremely rude to her because her FH was not there. he did not want to take the time to explain anything to her and every time she asked a question, he just said come back with FH. after we were done talking to him, he saw my ring and said when are you getting married. after his reaction with my friend, there was no way i was even going to use him as my photographer. the dj on the other hand was good......he talked to both of us and went through everything about the music selections and then gave her some info to take home to FH.

again, everyone has different experiences, so hopefully girls that used this place didn't have these problems.
