Hi. My fiance and I have decided to postpone our wedding date until 2009 We're really worried about our financial situation and figured it would be better to give ourselves an extra year to save. Then hopefully we will be able to have what we want. If you don't mind though I'm going to hang out on the 2008 board until the 2009 board shows up. I'm going to miss my 2008 girls though, you guys are awesome and so helpful.

You know, i think many of us feel the same way you do! That is great that you won't have to settle for anything about your wedding if you wait another year!!!! Just think how much info you'll get in three years....lol Glad to see your staying on our boards!!! Kepp posting away girl!!!

i think that is great that you guys came to that mature decision together instead of just trying to struggle through. . . you should never have to settle when it comes to your wedding. . .and you should never go broke for it either! You better stay on the 2008 boards!!! and by the time you are ready to plan your big day - you will be a pro after seeing all of our mistakes AND good choices! Good Luck with your new date - and think of it this way: You can pick ANY vendor you want, ANY date you want!! You will have no competition as long as you start planning early - like 2007! Maureen I think that is a very smart idea. Your wedding is supposed to be such a happy day, you don't want to put that financial stress on the both of you by rushing the date. It will also be a good idea especially if you start your planning now, you will have so much research done by the time you need to book things that you'll probably get the best prices for everything
And you are more than welcome to dabble with us 08'ers

Awwww, thanks everyone! Yeah I was pretty bummed at first. I really wanted 2008 but my fiance talked me into a 2009 wedding. Hey what's the rush?? Don't worry I plan to stick around. I will be a pro by the time my wedding comes around, lol. Maybe I'll even become a wedding planner. I still plan to keep looking for a reception hall. There's so many to see that it'll take me about a year to see them all. I won't have to rush around like a crazy woman. Plus I like looking because of al the free food you getThat way I'll know where I want to have it.

I am so glad you decided to stay on the 08 board!!! Its a very smart idea what youare doing...Iwould do the same. Its better to relax and enjoy this time rather then stress out!! If you really really want to get married...youcan have a very small intimate reception for now and then have bigger and more exravavegant celebration on your anniversary...its just an idea...I admire your patience Keep us posted!!!!

I think it is wise of you two to wait also. I went to the Expo today, and even my FMIL now sees why we are waiting till 08'. Only you know when the time is right. Good luck & keep posting.

i understand how you feel. you made a right decision. now you have more time to plan. i was an 07 bride now i am a 08 hopefully bride if everything goes good.

I truly believe everything happens for a reason....and glad you guys could come to a mature decision and put the I wanna be married and a bride aside for a minute!!! You better not leave us, and just soak it all in, cause you are gonna be a pro by 09!!!!

I probably will be joining you on the 09 boards because FI and I are kinda going through the same situation. To add to it his grandfathers health is failing and everyones concentration is on him now. We spend alot of time at the hospital with him. the only thing we will do is book a hall to lock in this years price.

i totally understand, i was going to be a 2007 bride, but things didnt work out as planned, but they did work out for the better and now it will be in 2008. everything happens for a reason and you will have even more time to plan the most exciting day in your life!!!
