Are any Jewish Brides doing wedding programs? If so, what are you putting in them?

Re: Wedding Programs for Jewish Brides?
I'm doing wedding programs.
We're probably going to put in the names of the bridal party, the Rabbi and Cantor, and of our parents and Grandmother (FH's).
I also may include short bios of each BM/GM (why they are special to us, basically), and explanations of different portions of the ceremony, as I have several friends who have been asking me about Jewish Weddings and what is different. That, of course, depends on space.
Also up for consideration, is a mention of those who have passed away who will be in our hearts that day. However, that will open up a whole political can of worms for me, as I had one grandmother who deserves no such mention, and there are people, crazy as they are, who would be offended by the omission of her name. But that's my own issue to work out.

How do you list the grandmother's?

Re: Wedding Programs for Jewish Brides?
There are a number of ways it could be done.
You can always list those who have passed under the heading - In Our Hearts - on a separate page, somewhat by itself, under a poem or something. Or you can just write something heartfelt about feeling the loss again that they are not here today, etc.

I've actually never been to a wedding, Jewish or not, where they did these. I don't think we will be using them either.

Re: Wedding Programs for Jewish Brides?
My cousins did them (they're Jewish too), and one of my BMs did it at her wedding (she's not Jewish). I haven't seen them at any other wedding, but being from the theater, I really like the idea. Also, so many of our guests aren't Jewish, and I'd like to take the opportunity to explain to them what all these customs are.

That is a great idea. I thought of doing it but then didn't have the time nor the patience for it.

I am doing programs. I am explaining the traditions and reasons behind them. I am also having the list of the bridal partal, etc... We are walking down the aisle to a Hebrew song (my FH and my parents are Israeli) and we are translating the lyrics- they are beautiful passionate love song.

Re: Wedding Programs for Jewish Brides?
Only because out of all the Jewish weddings I have been to (mostly in my family) no one has had programs. I wasn't sure if it was cause they are Jewish or maybe because it was in 1991!
