wedding registry

wedding registry

FH and i registered a while ago...for a few small items but mostly larger ones ($350 pot set, $200 knife set, luggage, bedding etc). We spoke last night and decided we really dont need the small things so we are going to remove them....in hopes that people will give us giftcards instead so that we can purchase the larger items.

should we delete them from the registry all together or should i mark them as 'fulfilled' so when people get the shower invite they just think they got to the registry too late and that we did in fact have items on there that were reasonably priced?
or am i just thinking way too much into this and it really doesnt matter what i do?

I think you are overthinking it a bit BUT that it is more considerate to leave some lower priced items on the list. People will want to have the joy of seeing you unwrap their gift at the shower. Can you maybe break up the luggage and pots and pans sets into individual pieces? You can still return them for the set and then take the extra money to apply to something else.

ETA: You can still return the lower priced items to get the larger items if no one buys them. But look around, look at other registries. Maybe there's some giftware you want to splurge on like toasting flutes or a cake serving set for the wedding, or a nice frame for your wedding album. I'm sure some of your stuff could use an update as well.

More ideas- depending on where your registered, maybe you can register for some consumable items that you'll use, like handsoaps for the bathroom, etc etc. You can always use more wooden spoons
