Nope, not if you don't care about them. I actually have 2 sets of toasting flutes, which I'd offer you to use, but they both say Eileen and Brett. Might get a little sticky

Ask your hall what they have available. I bought mine the week before the wedding (they were on sale, so I couldn't resist!), but my hall would have provided a very nice set for us. I do have my toasting flutes in my 'wedding curio' along with my knife & server.

Nope , you don't NEED them ... the hall will usually provide if you don't have it. For example at our final meeting they asked if we'd be bringing that stuff in, cause if not they'd have it for us
Though if you want a keepsake, you can find inexpensive ones if you search around..
Mine is packed up already .. not sure what I'll really do with it

I think it's a nice touch to have your own & use them for the first time at your wedding. I'm looking forward to using my knife & server for all cakes that I cut, on birthdays, anniversaries & any other special occasions, and the same goes for the toasting flutes, whenever we have something to celebrate, I want to use the same flutes that we used to celebrate our wedding day.

What exactly is a cake server? (Are you talking about those knifey looking spatula thingies???)
I don't drink, so I don't care about the flutes...Though it may be cute to have our names on something. I got ZERO personalized items
My Momma is buying me a gorgeous little satin bag from an Irish shop...It ihas shamrocks embossed on it

That's a nice idea.

I never got the server set but I ended up with two sets of personalized flutes. One in storage the other in my wall unit. They just surround two wedding pictures of us one with my Savita and one with his Nona (Grandmothers Which are bothe deceased) It makes a nice accent to them

You don't 'need' to but they are nice to have...we totally forgot toasting flutes (and had many to chose from as gifts) and i don't even think the maitre'd realized we had a cake cutter/server.

We only had the toasting flutes that we had received as an engagement gift. The hall provided the knife/cake server and offered the flutes too but we told him we already had them.

I am not using my own for these things. Who's going to remember to bring them home for me? I know I won't remember and I don't want anyone else to have that responsibility. Not to mention, it's just a knife and two glasses. I would rather have them in my home to use.
